Carolyn wakes up in the middle of the night and sees David staring at her. David says he was just checking to make sure she wasn't dead. David gives her a toy soldier to protect her. Sarah appears to Carolyn, making Carolyn believe that David might be telling the truth about other things. CArolyn tells Elizabeth not to send David away. David is upset because Dr. Wooodard saw Sarah right before he died.
