Leslie calls Ada's looking for Eddie. Ada tells him that Eddie was feeling ill and was put up at Rita and Norman's for the night; however, Rita awakens to find that Eddie is gone. Ada cuts off a drunken Steven, urging him to go home. They discuss their marriages. Steven jokes that he intends to become a Peeping Tom, spying on Peyton Place residents until he learns the secret of a good marriage. He asks Ada if a man and a woman can live together.
