geek

Sans plus tarder, voilà la bête :

I candidate for an Erasmus course for the year 2008-2009 in the University of Reading. I am now in L2 so I plan to go study in the UK for the L3.
I really want to go and study a year in the University of Reading next year. Erasmus has always been something I wanted to do in my life as a student. I have seen a lot of movies about it and I have had a bitter foretaste of it. It was back before entering the LLCE Anglais course at Le Mirail: I graduated in computer science at the IUT de Blagnac, and at the end of the second year, in the context of a compulsory training course, I worked at a Welch university (North East Wales Institute of Higher Education in Wrexham) for two months. It has been a terrific experience, but very frustrating at the same time. I didn’t study there, but I just worked for the computing department. I had very little contacts with Welsh students and the only persons working with me were other French students doing almost the same job as me. Fortunately, outside working hours, I could have some fun with native speakers but not as much as I would have liked.
It's during this short experience that I decided not to work in computer science but to learn English. And since then, the only thing I want is to go back in the UK and live a proper experience of student exchange.
I am aware that my grades are not really good, but you need to know that besides my studies I work twelve hours per week at McDonald's. Having saved enough money in two years, I do not intend to get a job in the UK so that I will be focused on the studies once in Reading.
The last but not least reason that I want to study one year in the UK for, is basically to improve both my written and oral English and that is what matters the most, isn't it?

Ante-Post-Scriptum : Merci beaucoup ange
